Student Work
Hello Accomplished Music Students,
Thank-you to those of you that have been able to complete music assignments during this time of distance learning. Today I thought I would encourage the rest of you to complete some music learning during your flex time, by sharing examples of student work (with permission). I am so impressed by Parkcrest students! Here are a few examples to share:
1. Abigail Santos in Div. 8 created her own song and sent it to me through email. Click below to hear a sample from her song “Rainbow ‘Cross the Sky”.
2. Candi Lee in Div. 2 printed out the sheet music posted for the song “Hymn to Freedom”. Click below to hear her play it on the recorder.
3. Emma Traistaru in Div. 2 created her own song using Chrome Music Lab. It sounds beautiful! To
hear it, click on the icon below and then press play.
4. Marcus Mah in Div. 2 also created his own song using Chrome Music Lab. It sounds like it could be used in a retro video game! To hear it, click on the icon below and then press play.
For both Primary and Intermediate students who have not handed in an assignment in to Miss Vaesen, I encourage you to create a Chrome Music Lab song by clicking here. Click on the squares and dots to make your own melody and beats. At the bottom, you can change the speed of your song and also choose the instruments that play it.
Then:
1. Click Save.
2. Click Copy Link.
3. Paste the link into an email to liz.vaesen@burnabyschools.ca
Happy Composing!

Hi Ms Vaesen
Here is my link. I wanted to make it sound as Beethoven!
Hugs and I miss you too
Miss Vaesen
Hi Emanuel! Thank-you for doing more music activities. We both love Beethoven! I hope you have been able to watch your movie “Beethoven Lives Upstairs” while you’ve been at home.
Virtual hugs back,
-Miss Vaesen

Wow! I really enjoyed listening to these creative compositions. I liked how they were all so different from each other but all wonderful to listen to! Way to go, Parkcrest musicians! Thank you for sharing, Miss Vaesen. Now I feel like I should go dust off my ukulele…
Miss Vaesen
You should, you should! 😉
