Welcome Back and parents needed for Friday’s Field Trip

Good morning families!

Happy new year! Very excited to be back after a great holiday!

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. As of right now we have 2 families (4 spots of students) that are able to drive on Friday for our field trip to Burnaby South and Ms. Macdonald-Chow has a family with two spots available for us. At this time that is only 6 car spots for students in Division 12. We do need car spots for 20 students in order to not cancel the field trip.

Please email me back as soon as you can if you are able to drive Friday afternoon to and from Burnaby South Friday January 10 12:15- 3:00pm.

Thank you again for all of your help!

Ms. Toor

Field Trip Notice and Report Card Envelope

Good afternoon families,

Today your child is bringing home a field trip notice along with their report card envelope. Our first trip is down the road to Burnaby South Secondary for their Winter Dance Show. Division 11 (Ms. Mac Donald- Chow) has invited Division 12 along with her class.

Please fill it out as soon as possible or latest by January 7th (ignore the old date on the bottom as it had the previous date… they added new spots and we got one of them).

We are looking for parent drivers for this trip on Friday January 10th at Burnaby South. If we cannot get enough parents we will cancel this trip. School Cash Payment is open and parents that join us on the day of are able to pay in cash.

If you are on holidays you will be able to fill out the form and pay in the new year.

Thank you,

Ms. Toor

Raz-Kids Approved

Good afternoon families,

I finally made it to Suncrest a little after the bell as it took me close to 3 hours to get to Suncrest from Langley during this morning’s commute.

Just a post to let you know Raz-Kids has been approved and your accounts are now restored.

Happy reading!

Ms. Toor

Raz-Kids

Good afternoon families,

Yesterday I sent out all the Raz-Kids information for one of our home reading programs.

Each sheet in your child’s planner has 3 points of key information:

Teacher username: ctoor0

Student username: (child’s first name)

Password: (icon)

Unfortunately, teachers just found out that our license is waiting for approval from the school district and we will have to wait until the approval goes through in order to start using the accounts.

Last years accounts expired on November 5 and we were supposed to start yesterday. Thank you for your understanding and patience and I will update families when we are ready to start.

Thank you,

Ms. Toor

**Reminder Monday is Remembrance Day and there is no school for staff and students.

Quick Update: Class parent, change of schedule and pumpkin display

Good afternoon families,

Here is another blog post with some important information for families!

Classroom Parent for Division 12

Our class parent is Shelley West (Autumn’s Mom).

Shelley is looking for every parent to email her with:

  • Your child’s name
  • Phone number (main contact)
  • Email address (main contact)

Shelley will be putting the information all together as well as supporting the class with special events around the school.

Shelley’s email is shelleywest75@hotmail.com

Shelley will let me know which parents have responded and I will reach out to those she is still looking for information from.

Change of Schedule

There has been a change of scheduling. Please note the two changes below.

Photo re-takes: Friday November 1 (MOVED)

Spirit Day (PJ Day): Tuesday November 5 (MOVED)

Friday November 1st is now the day for photo retakes. Our spirit day has now been moved to Tuesday November 5. Only one parent so far has reached out to me about their child taking a photo re-take. Division 12 will still have a PJ Day on Friday and if your child is re-taking a photo please have them bring their PJs to change into after the photo is taken.

Thursday October 31: Carved Pumpkins

If you are bringing your pumpkin back to school carved please ensure your child’s name and Division 12 is on the back or bottom of their pumpkin so we can return it you. All the pumpkins brought to school will be displayed in the gym during our parade! A great Suncrest tradition since I have attended the school! So nice to see it continue!

Parade will still be in the afternoon around 1pm!

Thank you,

Ms. Toor
