Good morning Division 6! Happy Friday! Just a reminder, make sure that you have completed your STUDENT THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS.  It is due TODAY.  I hope everyone enjoys the weekend and maybe that would be a good time to talk to your family members or relatives about your FAMILY CULTURAL PROJECTS if possible.  Take care.  Here’s the schedule:

  • STUDENT THOUGTS AND REFLECTIONS – Please complete this reflection by TODAY. It shouldn’t take you too long, but you do need to reflect about the remote/online learning that we have done this term. This is mandatory and needs to be completed. Upload your reflections onto MS TEAMS. Thanks.
  • PE WITH JOE or JUST DANCE videos – Choose between PE WITH JOE or choosing JUST DANCE videos. If you have some other exercise that you found online, then do that. Try your best to get your 20 minutes of exercise every morning.  Drink plenty of water and take breaks when needed.
  • RAZ KIDS – Please continue with RAZ KIDS for 30 minutes today.
  • POETRY – Please continue to work on your POETRY PPT PROJECT poem. For the acrostic poem, you can choose whatever topic you want to write about. For the alliteration creature poem, we discussed yesterday that you can create a new alliteration creature poem, you can write your own alliteration poem, or you can use the same one that you prepared already.    Remember that the due date is FRIDAY, JUNE 12.  That is a soft deadline.  If you need more time to work on it, that’s okay.
  • MATH – I want you to work on questions from IXL today. Do the questions for 30 minutes. Grade 4s, I want you to do the questions for ADD THREE OR MORE DECIMALS.  Grade 5s, I want you to do the questions for INEQUALITIES WITH DECIMAL ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION. If you make any mistakes, read the corrections carefully.  Grade 5s, I don’t have a video for you today. Grade 4s, I’ve added the following video for some extra support if needed:
    • ADDING THREE DECIMALS (copy and paste in your internet browser the following):
    • SCIENCE – Your answers for ALL ABOUT THE DESERTS BIOMES due TODAY. Please upload your answers to the ASSIGNMENTS tab in MS TEAMS. Remember to use the reading strategies that we have learned this year by previewing the text features:
      • Preview the headings and subheadings to get an idea of what will be included in the article
      • Look at the key words, so that you know what new words you will be learning before you read the article
      • Review the questions at the end of the article so that you know what questions you need to answer while you read the article
    • SCIENCE – For more background information, you can watch the following videos from Moomoo Math and Science on youtube:
      • DESERT BIOME FACTS (type in your internet browser the following):
      • WHAT IS A DESERT? (type in your internet browser the following):
      • SS/CE – Continue working on your FAMILY CULTURAL PROJECT. Please take your time with this project and work on it a little bit every day if you can.  I have given a variety of options to creating this project, but I think a PPT would be easiest to upload onto MS TEAMS.  This is supposed to be a fun and educational assignment to learn about your own culture.  It is a great time for family discussions and to learn about family history together.  You can call or video chat with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins to gain more knowledge.  It is due FRIDAY, JUNE 12th.  If you have time, watch the following video on CULTURE for more background information:
        • CARTOON FOR KIDS!! WHAT IS CULTURE? SOCIAL STUDIES FOR CHILDREN (copy and paste in your internet browser):
        • CULTURES AROUND THE WORLD (copy and paste in your internet browser):
        • PRACTICE TYPING with Dance Mat typing or if you found a website that you like, for 20 minutes.
        • MUSIC – Please remember to visit Ms. Fletcher’s blog. Her blog is on the Suncrest website at https://sd41blogs.ca/fletcherp/
        • Explore MS TEAMS – You can use the chat option with each other after you have completed the day’s activities. It will be open from 10:30 to 1:30. Enjoy chatting with each other!

Well, that’s it for today. Enjoy the weekend and see you guys on Monday!
