December Precept

Fortune Favors The Bold.

I think that means that people that take risks and are confident fortune will come. So if you are doing something brave and people are doubting you and ignore them you will get fortune. And the list can go on and on so that’s the main idea I have. But there’s more to think about.

Maybe this means fortune goes to the people that work hard. And there fortune is just getting what they were working hard for.

An example I have from Wonder is about Summer. She sat with August at the time rumors about him were big but she sat with him anyway. And said it was crowded at the other table she was and I think here fortune was she got to have alot of fun at lunch sitting with August.

November Precept

Have no friends equal to yourself.

I have been thinking and i might not have a long expatiation but i may have a little so i think this means have friends that have different skills than you so you can learn different things from them and that’s my first idea.

my next idea is that it means to have friends who are better than you. Because they will guide you and don’t be friends with people lower than you unless you are ready to help them. And that’s my second idea but I think there way more stuff I am missing.there’s. And I also don’t have the book with me so I can’t make an references.

February Precept

The February precept is: “It’s better to know some of the questions than all the answers.” – James Thurber

I think Mr.Thurber meant that if you just know the answers then that doesn’t show any evidence that you tried to understand the questions. If you just know the answers then people might assume that you asked your friend for the answers. If you ask a whole bunch of questions then it shows that you are interested in the learning process.

This precept also reminds me of a time before the 1500’s when most people thought the Earth was flat. The way this makes a connection to me is the fact that the people thought they had all the answers and never questioned their beliefs. They never asked themselves “Am I wrong?” or “Does this make sense?” It’s a good thing some people like Christopher Columbus did ask themselves these questions to find out for sure if the world was flat or round.

December Precept

Hi guys. this month’s precept is “Fortune Favors The Bold”. To me it means that the people with a lot of fortune favor the people that are bold, because these fortunate people want to be known for more than just being lucky or had inherited their good life.

The December precept also means to me that good luck comes to those who are outstanding and courageous. What I mean by that is the people who try to succeed in life will have more chance of succeeding then the people that don’t try to succeed in life.

September Precept

In our class we are reading the book Wonder. It is a really good book, there is a kid named August, he is ten years old and it’s his first time going to school .He has a older sister named Via. In August’s English class he has a teacher, Mr.Browne. Mr.Browne has asked the class to write a essay about the September precept .The September precept is When Given The Choice Between Being Right And Being Kind

Choose Kind. What do you think August will choose?
