“What is beautiful is good, and who is good will soon be beautiful.” —Sappho

This precept is a little complicated to explain so I’m going to try my best to explain what this precept means: First of all, a lot of people have the same idea about this precept, and I do to; First of all,: “What is beautiful is good, and who is good will soon be beautiful”, well that’s what it literally says.

This is a big part of the book “Wonder” because, in this book their is a character named August and his face, well lets just say that its not normal..You can call it deformed. But he has a good heart and he’s really nice to a lot of people. And the part of the precept that says: “who is good will soon be beautiful.” That kind of describes August’s situation.

Okay I know this isn’t perfect of isn’t really to the point but, I tried

December Precept

Hi guys! I’m back to talk about the wonder book, so you remember when I wrote all those precepts. I’m going to write one today and it is the December precept, I know that I never got to do that one so I’m going to finish it today. So I‘m going to get started. Fortune favors the bold so about this precept it is about something that happened in your life.

I’m going to tell you what it means to me so what I think the word fortune favors the bold means think fortune means chance or luck in life. What I think favors means is that it is an act of kindness. What I think bold means is showing an ability to take risks. So that’s what I think about this thanks for reading bye. See you in my next blog.

Mr. Browne’s Dec. Precept

Mr. Browne’s December precept is “Fortune favors the bold.” I think what is means is that you have to get out of your comfort zone to have fortune. You have to do things that you usually won’t do to get the things you want. You have to be brave to be bold. You have to be the best version of you. When you’re bold you’re confident, courageous, and ready to take risks to get the fortune at the end.

Bold can be defined as many things. It could mean courageous, confident, special, strong, daring, fearless, brave, or intrepid. Fortune can be defined as chance or luck. Chance, luck, fortune. Each of these can have the word “bad” before it. Bad chance, bad luck, bad fortune. That’s where the word “favors” comes in. Favors (or favor) can be defined as approval or liking. That turns the “bad” into “good.” So, if you put bold, fortune, and favors you get: If you’re special and brave, you will have good luck. This is what I think this precept means.

December Precept

Fortune Favors The Bold.

I think that means that people that take risks and are confident fortune will come. So if you are doing something brave and people are doubting you and ignore them you will get fortune. And the list can go on and on so that’s the main idea I have. But there’s more to think about.

Maybe this means fortune goes to the people that work hard. And there fortune is just getting what they were working hard for.

An example I have from Wonder is about Summer. She sat with August at the time rumors about him were big but she sat with him anyway. And said it was crowded at the other table she was and I think here fortune was she got to have alot of fun at lunch sitting with August.

Mr. Browne’s December precept

What I think Mr. Browne’s December precept from the book called wonder “Fortune favors the bold” means that when you do something brave and bold and you step out, it could benefit you in the future. In fact, that reminds me of something brave that I had done before. I had once went snorkeling for the first time and I have to admit, I was a little scared, but in the end I got through, as well as find a golf ball, a crab, a crab’s shell, and a few fish. How did this little trip help me? Well, in class we had a big project to do and you could choose to study whatever you want, and I had found a few creatures that I studied and it helped me with the project. Basically, What I think this precept means is that if you sometimes risk doing something brave or bold, it could benefit you in the future.

Dec precpet

Mr.Browne’s Dec is audentes fortuna iuvat which means fortune favors the bold.To me it means that if you want to bold or outstanding but not a showoffer, you have to work everyday.Work hard,go to UBC,get a job you enjoy working at,buy a house,a car too and live a happy life.If you don’t care about your life in the future, you shouldn’t care about studying, getting a degree and living happily ever after. If you want to be bold, you have to work for it.You have to study everyday for more than ten minutes and I promise you will be bold. Some pencils can come in handy!
