Bard On The Beach

I enjoyed playing the games that Louisea and Jeff from Bard On The Beach brought for us to play.  I liked playing the game that where we have to throw a ball and say a word when we throw the ball to someone else. We also got to a sculpture garden activity where you sculpt a line into a sculpture like “Chain me with roaring bears”. I really liked that line it stuck with me for a long time. My favorite part was when we had to find people with the same color line as us and each color represented a character yellow was juliet or romeo one of colors was Tybalt it might have been green or red.

March Precept

The March precept is: “Kind words do not cost much, yet they accomplish much.” I completely agree with this. Kind words really don’t cost you anything, other than time, and if you have time reading this, then you probably also have time to say kind words. Anyway, I completely agree with this, because all you have to do to cheer someone up is to say something kind to them, which doesn’t cost a thing, and yet, just one kind worded sentence is enough to make a person happy. I really have nothing else to say, other than this is a very important life lesson, and, as a precept, it follows what a precept should do. A precept is something to live by, and literally everyone lives by this precept, and if not, then they really should change, because kind words can heal wounds, can help people, and most of all, give new meaning and determination to a person, with just a few kind words.

VSO Masquerade Reaction

At school, we had a performance that we and one other class had participated in, and it was a Masquerade! We had to wear our masks that we made on the performance, which is why its called a Masquerade. The performance was about Mozart, and we sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on recorder, and 4 other variations. The performance went something like this: First, we walked in to the gym, which was were the performance was taking place, and we waited for the first part of the masquerade to finish, and after that we walked back and forth holding our recorders. Finally, we assembled into circles and we played on our recorders. All the of the circles played the first 3 parts, but the fourth part, our circle had to dance while the others played, and the final part we played and the others danced. It was fun playing and dancing, but the highlight of it was probably playing because it was much more fun, but if we hadn’t been wearing masks, things would probably be different, so that was a also something. I liked the performance and it was a lot of fun, and were also going to be doing this 3 times. we already did it twice, but tomorrow were doing it again.

Beedie Group tour reaction

These titles are getting really repetitive, aren’t they? Anyway, this blog post is dedicated to the Beedie Group field trip that we had. If you don’t know, Beedie Group is a company that works towards making all sorts of buildings, and we had a field trip there, were we got to go on a bus trip and a guy was talking about how the making of the building goes. We got to see how a bunch of cement walls were being put up by a crane and lifted into position, with a bunch of workers around it steadying it. We also learned that before building a building, you must cement the area so its flat, which takes around 12-18 months. After that, we went to the Beedie Group building, were we got to explore the many parts of the building, and we even got to enter Mr. Beedie’s office! There we saw all kinds of cool stuff, like a golden helmet with a bunch of little carvings on it, a real pirate sword, a bunch of other swords, a boat that was made of wood, and lots of other cool stuff. And at the end of the day we got to eat pizza! Needles to say, it was a good day, and a fun one, too.

Meet the Maestro reflection

Watching Maestro Tovey play on piano made me think of how powerful music is to me.      I find music so powerful because you can put all your feelings inside of your song and when other people listen to you song they can sometimes tell if you were happy or sad that day.

Another reason I find music so powerful is because songs inspire me.                         When I grow up I want to be able to write songs and inspire other people and give them the feeling of happiness and the feeling I have when I listen to inspiring songs. When I listen to inspiring songs I feel joy, sadness, the power to do what I want in life.

One more thing I liked when Maestro Tovey played piano was when he sang a song named Why. I don’t know why the song was named Why but it was funny when he played the song, because the first time he played the song he played it normally.                        The second time he played the Why song he started singing the word why a few times and every time he said why the entire school laughed and laughed.

I thought that it it was very cool for Bramwell Tovey to come to our school and the why song was really funny too.

week 6

Week 6     6/10/16

Welcome back to week 6, of my I2! It’s been another week, another 7 days, 168 hours. Anyway as I was saying my I2 is finished, so there isn’t a lot to talk about and nothing to worry about. There is nothing to be pressured about, I can just be calm, and relax! So I was wondering what I could talk about…I am going to talk about how something went wrong. In week 7 I’ll talk about something that went right. Ok let’s get started.

Something that didn’t well was that when I typed something, two minutes later I printed it out…it was so light, you couldn’t even read the words, so I tried it again, and same thing again, it was so frustrating! I tried again, it didn’t work. So, I just outlined it with pencil.

Another thing that didn’t work well was that when I just printed one thing out, it came out, but not just one, but at least 5 pages.

Another thing that didn’t go well, was that when I printed something out, it didn’t come out! Again I was frustrated. I always get frustrated, when something that doesn’t work. I mean wouldn’t you? Frustration is a normal emotion. We feel a lot.

Well, that’s it for now, tune in for week 7, and be sure to check out, next week! Next week I will be talking about what went well for me! Bye!
