Healthy Eating

We had a lovely time investigating different healthy foods with our mouths today!

To start off our healthy activity, Mrs. Starling taught us about 6 different kinds of apples. We even got to test all of them to see what our favourite apple was!

Afterwards we had a party to celebrate all the healthy food we brought in to share.

Thank you to all who helped out and supplied the food! It was a fun and successful day, and almost all of the food was eaten by the end of the day.

Remembrance Day & Indigenous Veterans Day

On November 8 Stoney Creek had a beautiful assembly for Remembrance Day and Indigenous Veterans Day!  Division 12 had rich conversations about these 2 days. As we talked we recorded our questions. Most of our questions revolved around Poppies, as we all were given one to wear and keep on this day.

It was magnificent listening to all of our classmates share delicate information and stories they had about this day!

We were unable to answer all our questions in one day, I hope they continue to be curious learners and ask questions on many more topics to come.

On Thursday we had the privilege to have leadership students from Burnaby Mountain Secondary teach us basic ball skills. They were very helpful and fun to hang out with! We hope they come back again soon!

Yummy Kale Chips

On Thursday we had the privilege to make kale chips with Mrs. Taylor-Gibbs. She has started our discussion around seasonal patterns and how the Earths rotation affects what season we are in!

In this moment we are peeling the leaves off of the stems into small bite size pieces to get them ready to go in the oven. We even tried one after they were ready!
