Language Arts:

• Work on your draft for your speech (“Lets Think Differently)
• Use thesaurus to add to your “juicy word” list
• Read 30 mins daily. Practice prediction skills (Quiz Monday)
• comment on this blog about the ONE WORD writing. You may google ONE WORD and try writing for practice on the word you are given!(Ask parent to help get you started and remember not to put private information on there!)

Math

• Grade 5 : Lesson 6 Homework sheet and #1-3 in text
• Grade 6:  Test corrections, signature and reflections

Music

• Don’t forget $10 for recorder
• grade 6’s will be joining the other grade 6’s for guitar starting Monday

Social Studies

• Grade 5: Immigration – study definitions and why people immigrate to Canada or Emigrate from another country.
• Grade 6: Ancient China – geography- 2 questions and 2 pictures due Tues  (colour pictures and add details based on what you read in the text)

Art

• Worked on memory bags today and cutting out picture of memory bags.  These should all be completed by next Tuesday morning. Take home any work needed to complete.

Notices:

• parent teacher interview times sent home today. If you did not request an interview you will still have a form sent home unless you indicated you did not need to meet me. Please call the school or put in note in the planner if you can not make this time.

Christmas is coming fast, and so is our Hippity Hoppity Chhristmas Concert! Make sure to order tickets fast because they will be selling out! We can not wait until next Wednesday to perform the dance we have been working on.

Today we had a grade 7 vs staff volleyball game. We are not sure who won! Everyone was very excited and showed great sportsmanship!

Today our Gr.5’s  learned about compound machines in science. Kendra says, “We had to start a collage and read a booklet to learn about them. We need to look for pictures of both simple and compound machines for our collages. “

Hi. Today Ms. Natha taught the grade 6’s math. She was really good. We did art today. We coloured pictures of poppies,  learned a poem and tried to make a poppy scene to go with our poem. We had a lot of fun!

Today we had a special presentation by HOJA. HOJA is a an Acappella group. They were very entertaining. We all have to write a letter to or about HOJA for homework. Click on their name to visit their website.  Many of us really enjoyed hearing their show.
