November News

The past few weeks have been bustling with activity as our class took charge of the “Drop That Candy” candy drive after Halloween. Together we successfully assembled over 200 goody bags destined for Vancouver UGM (Union Gospel Mission) to contribute to their Christmas hampers. Following this sweet initiative, our focus shifted to preparing for the Remembrance Day Assembly. Watch our class’ video at the end of this post. The artwork created by your child is currently showcased in our class’s window.

We were delighted to welcome Crystal Wong from TD Bank as a volunteer mentor with JABC (Junior Achievement BC) today. Ms. Wong is leading our class through the “More Than Money” financial literacy program, and we look forward to her guidance in the next couple of weeks.

This Thursday promises an exciting Teams meeting with Naorowat Cheeptham, a microbiologist currently teaching at TRU (Thompson Rivers University) in Kamloops. Serving as a volunteer mentor with Science World, Ms. Cheeptham will enlighten us on STEM and careers in Science as part of our Career Education program.

Lastly, mark your calendars for the upcoming Mistletoe Market on Friday, December 1st. This event highlights the crafting and sales skills by students in Grades 5-7. Get ready for a festive and creative showcase from our talented students!
