Wrapping up October

Hope you are all keeping warm & dry! Please make sure your child is ready for these blustery, chilly, wet days with appropriate coats with hoods or umbrella, boots, and maybe even gloves & a hat. If your child is going to be wearing boots, please send a pair of inside shoes so they are prepared for PE.

We had a fun pumpkin carving activity yesterday with “Guts & Seeds, learning to shallow carve out a face for the presentation at Confederation Park. Students will get their carved pumpkins back next Monday in time for the pumpkin contest.

Halloween always means candy and costumes – please consider the following when your child is choosing an outfit to celebrate: Poster – Culture is Not a Costume_email

We will be having a Halloween party Tuesday afternoon. Students may bring snacks for individual consumption but not for sharing. Please don’t send *any* sweets or baked goods as students will get enough over this next week.

Speaking of sweets, Div. 6 is inviting all of Brantford to again “Drop That Candy” next week after Halloween from Nov 1-7. Bring any individually wrapped candies that have no Halloween images or words as they will be part of holiday treat bags for charities. No chips, crackers, or cookies please! Thank you for participating!

Socials Studies has wrapped up and we started on our topic of “Mixtures” today – ask your child about mechanical vs homogeneous mixtures (solutions) and the diaper experiment we did today!
