Hi families, as you are checking planner and homework assignments with your child, please note that a check mark is for anything completed and circles are for assignments to be completed.
Students will be completing between 2-4 assignments tonight. This may come as a shock as it sounds like a lot, but look through the assignments and you will see that it is a few questions each. Students have been given ample time during the day including extra time to catch up at the end of the day for any incompletes.
A lot of students enjoy working together with classmates where they can learn from others and even teach each other new things but there are challenges as well: a lot of chatting and hanging out means that not a lot of work is actually getting done and sometimes asking friends for help isn’t helpful at all. Students are reminded that they can chat but they need to work and therefore have incomplete assignments due to not managing their time well. Asking the teacher for help might work out better than a friend’s ideas.
Please talk with your child if they could not manage completing their assignments at home either which means they need encouragement to stay on task at school and/or ask the teacher for help right away.
