We love Division 20!

We are incredibly grateful for this year.

Division 20 was a special place to learn and grow; not every class was like this one. Mrs. Nagy and I feel fortunate to have had such a caring, supportive, and encouraging bunch of children (and parents) who cheered for one another’s successes and progress. We have many memories that will stay with us forever.

Each of your children made our class an environment of comfort, safety, joy, perseverance, and curiosity. We hope your children will remember our class and hold onto the photo memory posters we created for them.

Have a fantastic summer break! We will see you back in September in our classroom to start the new year off (and hopefully back together for the first few days!)

Lots of hugs and happy summer,

Mrs. Walji & Mrs. Nagy

Beautiful Barnet Beach!

We had the best time today at Barnet Beach!

The whole day was a fabulous and smooth adventure for us.

We basked in the sunshine, made sand castles, caught crabs, saw starfish, played together, snacked together, laughed together, and explored together.

Div. 20 is an immensely joyful class.

A HUGE thank you to our parent volunteers today (mamas of Aveline, Kaleb, Grayson, Logan) who helped make this field trip one of the best yet! We couldn’t have done it without you. Our hearts are happy! THANK YOU!

Reader’s Theatre for our last Sip & See of the year!

Thank you to our Div. 20 families for taking the time to join us for our last Sip & See of the year!

Your children were extremely excited to perform their story for you for our Reader’s Theatre spotlight.

It has been a delight for us to observe and see their progress in developing many of their reading skills. Students had opportunities to provide their peers with stars of encouragement and praise, as well as positive and realistic feedback for improvement.

We are so proud of this class… such thoughtful minds and hearts.

Burnaby Village Museum!

It was a beautiful day for an adventure to the Burnaby Village Museum.

We all enjoyed traveling back in time to see how people lived, what they wore (they were definitely fancier!), what items stores carried and the types of stores available, how much items cost (movie tickets were 10 cents!), and what a classroom looked like… to name a few! Our class truly loved seeing the general store (as a comparison to our “corner store”) and how the bank and cash registers looked back then.

We had a very interesting conversation about the 1922 classroom features. You would be surprised to hear how many students would like to sit in rows, but would skip the inkwells!

We ended our trip with a spin on the zippy carousel; a first for a few students.

What a fun day out together… we wish we had more time to explore, discuss, and to also see some of the exhibits that were closed. A neat place to visit again with your family!

A BIG thank you to Lily’s parents who joined us on the trip to help supervise.

A few more trips together before the end of the year… and we can’t wait!
