2 Good Apps To Have When Composing A Song

  1. Voice Memos

This app come with all iPhones (an android equivalent would be Voice Recorder, which is already preinstalled in some androids). If you are writing a song without a computer (yet) then you need a way to record your ideas and listen to them again and revise when necessary. It’s simple and easy to use.

2. Metronome by Soundbrenner

Having a metronome app is incredibly useful when you are composing a song. There are so many metronome apps out there that essentially do the same thing (i. e. Pro Metronome, Simply Metronome etc). I like Soundbrenner’s metronome because you don’t have to pay for the actual metronome. It is useful because it helps you figure out the tempo of your piece, thus your BPM.

#2 You Suck and Producing – Visually explains ways you can create tension and release by using intervals (uses Ableton)
