Burnaby Houses for Sale

Hi all,

Since we are learning about budgeting, I wanted you all to go do some ‘budgeting’ research for me. Hypothetically, I need to buy a house soon as I’m getting too old to live at home. With this being said, I want you to look at housing in Burnaby (the best city ever). My budget is any home between $1,000,000 – $1,500,000. Can you do some research and tell me 3 pro’s and 2 con’s for the house you have chosen. For the keener’s in the class, I want you to find an affordable home in North Burnaby (Willingdon heights area) or close to Brentwood Mall.

** Please include the link of the house you’ve chosen as well.

Hey Mr.Wu I found house on Patterson Avenue. It is near Patterson Station so you could walk until the bus stop and what for the bus and the apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The cost of the house is 692,000 bucks and is 1192 square feet and the area is quiet at night and it isn’t so busy busy during the day.

    Hello Mr wu
I found some possible candidates 🙂
    – 6601 Marlborough Avenue
It’s really pretty and modern, whilst staying in your price range.
    – 6671 Dunblane Avenue this apartment, condo thing is really pretty and modern, as well. (I get drawn to that sort of thing)
    – 1104-6689 Willingdon Avenue, this is really nice, I think it is my favourite because it is also pretty low on your price range.

I’m also really not good at the location so I’m sorry if these are like in a different province or something 🙁

WOW!! That’s pretty cool you’re buying house especially one in Burnaby. When looking for a house these would be some of the questions I would ask myself:
How many bedrooms and bath am I looking for?
Which part in Burnaby would be pretty convenient?
Am I even financially ready to buy?
Am I making a a decision based on my emotions?

Here are some houses I think you should buy and why-

    https://www.rew.ca/properties/R2355882/7-7520-18th-street-burnaby-bc?search_id=burnaby-bc&search_type=property_browse
This house looks pretty neat especially form the outside and it is a three bedrooms and two bathroom since the person doesn’t have a family (YET) it is pretty big enough. Plus it is even below your budget.

This house is a 5 bedroom and 3 baths which is PRETTY hUgE! and it costs $1,480,000.

I hope you consider the houses I chose.

  6. maddie says:

the house I chose is a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom house. it is a condo but it was built in 2019 and is very spacious and modern. there are a small backyard and windows in every room of the house. now I am going to talk about the pros and cons of this house.
PROS #1 The house is very spacious with 3 bedrooms which allow for an office or a guest room.
PRO #2 it is in the Willingdon area and it is very close to Hastings Street.
PRO #3 there is a small backyard and it is in the price range.

CONS #1 it is a townhouse which is very different from a home.
CONS #2 the kitchen might end up being cramped if more than 1 person is in it because it is a dead end

    Helloing Mr. Wu,

I found this duplex four minutes away from Brentwood Town Centre:
    https://www.rew.ca/properties/R2342198/4935-georgia-street-burnaby-bc

    4935 Georgia Street

The asking price is $1,498,000 and is only one year old.

    Pros:
    1. Age, this house has a modern look and won’t require any renovations.
    2. Area, very close to Mcdonalds, Anton’s Pasta, Eileen Dailly Pool and Brentwood Town Center
    3. Size, 4 bed and bath is plenty of space and you can transform the back into a rental unit I think.

    Cons:

1.PRICE, the house is at the top of the budget so I would sometimes think of getting an older bungalow and renovating it.

    2. Blinds, okay I think that you might not agree with this but I explain why the blinds are a problem. This house has a white modern theme and the property description says it has Zebra cloth blinds, that sounds ugly no offence

    Here are a few ideas

    1 https://www.rew.ca/properties/R2342198/4935-georgia-street-burnaby-bc?search_id=972389036&search_type=property_search
Pros- for a duplex, it’s bigger than normal, by about 200 square feet. It’s also pretty new (2018) so you wouldn’t need to worry about renovation for some time. It’s also in North Burnaby as you requested.
Cons- it’s a bit expensive for a duplex, but not by too much. However, every penny counts. Also, there’s only four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

    https://www.rew.ca/properties/R2352730/5590-clinton-street-burnaby-bc?search_id=972391183&search_type=property_search
Pros- this duplex is really new as well. It’s more expensive than the previous one, but in my opinion, I would choose this one. That’s just me, though. Also, there’s a single garage.
Cons- as I said above, it’s a duplex. It’s smaller than the option above, as well.

The inside of this house is really nice. the outside of the house could be repainted if you want….and there is a patio and backyard.

I found a couple houses that fit, Mr. Wu….
    1. https://www.rew.ca/properties/R2357027/121-n-stratford-avenue-burnaby-bc?search_id=burnaby-bc&search_type=property_browse

This house is located in capitol hill up in Burnaby North, which is where Brentwood mall is located. It’s way farther north then Brentwood, about 5 km, but if you take a bus you should be fine. It costs $1, 460, 000 which is barely in your budget.

    2. https://www.rew.ca/properties/R2356045/1206-2232-douglas-road-burnaby-bc?search_id=burnaby-bc&search_type=property_browse

This condo is in Brentwood Park, very close to Brentwood mall. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 washrooms, with a pretty good view. It is also close to the skytrain, which could be useful.

Hope these houses fit your needs
