High School for Gamers

Hi all,

I bet y’all are happy that today is the end of the week. I was in bed last night and reading the news when I saw a Montreal student ‘enrol in gaming high school’ and I thought to myself … what has the world come too. But then I thought to myself how, we study business to be an accountant, we study medicine to be a doctor, we study water and electricity to be a tradesman, so why can’t we study gaming to be a gamer? I did some research on how much ‘gamers’ can make from tournaments and sponsorships and here is what I got:

  • 1. Saahil “UNIVeRsE” Arora| America | earned: $1,964,038.64| 39 tournaments
  • 2. Peter “ppd” Dager| America | Earned:$1,961,183.29| 33 tournaments
  • 3. Kurtis”Aui_2000″ Ling| Canada | earned: $1,881,147.04| 47 tournaments
  • 4. Clinton “Fear” Loomis| America | earned: $1,735,983.84 USD| 44 tournaments
  • 5. Zhang “xioa8” Ning| China | earned $1,662,202.73| 44 tournaments

This is well over what I will make in my lifetime…

I want you to read this article and try to convince me why we should have schools specifically for gaming or YouTubing or whatever the next technology fad is for making money.

I don’t really get the point of this school for gamers because it doesn’t really do much for the world like most jobs do. For example, engineers research and improve structures. But also, people have jobs that improve life quality and entertain people. I guess making games does that but being a gamer doesn’t really. I guess some people just like watching others play games and stuff like that.

WOAH! I’m a bit surprised the world has come to this, whats next?!
I have to say those gamers make waayyyyy more than an actual person with an actual job does, maybe I’ll consider doing that……… JKJKJK my parents would NEVER agree. My dad would be like,”I did not waste my time and money for you to say you wanna be someone that plays games all day when you grow up, now sit your but down and figure out how you’re gonna study to be a doctor.”

In my opinion, if we had schools specifically for gaming or YouTubing or whatever the next technology fad is for making money we’d probably all wanna do it and it’d become another ordinary job that is “normal paying”.
I find this idea pretty stupid if you ask me, and its a waste 2,500.00 honestly. Instead of pro-gaming why can’t we have a school on how to hack and be good at computers in general. It would come in handy, so companies, businesses and communities don’t have to waste their money on new computers meanwhile the old ones could be fixed.
Sorry if I sound like a downer but I hope someone puts a stop to this cause it’s flipping PATHETIC!!!!

Well, Gaming is a big thing now such as games like Fortnite, LOL, and overwatch. People are getting good and making profit off the game. I think there should be a school for gaming because gaming schools will bring up a new way to make money and push a industry up the market. (in advance i dont think there should be a school for gaming becasue it is stupid.)The next tech fad is probably going to be is VR.

I like the idea of this gaming schools, but I do not think that is realistic. The more ”gamers” are going to be out there the less money they are going to make, probably becoming a regular, ordinary job. Also there will be less and less human interaction which will be really sad. Playing games is fun but we need way more than games to live a good life.

I think that this gaming school idea is kind of ridiculous! I myself do not play any video games, but some of my cousins do and I watch them. This so-called “education” does not really put an impact on other jobs in the world. If you get this job you might be just sitting on your couch all day and if your mom asks you what are you doing you will be like ” oh mom I am playing video games to get a good education at a gamers school!” All in all, I think that this gaming idea is very weird and I do not know a way where I can convince you, Mr. Wu, to buy the idea of Gamer School.

I don’t think that going to high school for gaming is going to help. It’s also a waste if time to learn ACTUAL education.
