Planner (a.k.a “Your Best Friend”) & Home Reading Log

Please encourage your child to bring the planner to and from school. It is my hope that each child will establish a routine to check it daily, even the clear transparent pocket after the front cover 🙂 PLEASE include a parent initial every time your child brings home the planner. It gives the teacher a piece of mind knowing information has been sent home and read. Thanks! (I check the planner every day and put a stamp next to your parent initial. Kids love that!)

 

HOME READING LOG

On Tuesday, September 15, I handed out a HOME READING LOG and an information sheet along with it. Your child should be encouraged to read every day for at least 15 minutes. Inside the HOME READING LOG there are some questions to help you ask your child before, during and after every read. Record the date, title/chapter/pages and parent initial per entry. The more your child reads, the more fluent and confident your child will be. Please assist your child to hand in the HOME READING LOG every FRIDAY morning to receive a sticker for every entry. I look forward to the number of entries every child reads.
