Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with talking about the Literature Circles Quizzes and Literature Circles. I am finding that a lot of students are not doing their assigned readings and roles and are consequently not ready for our Literature Circles Quizzes. The next Quiz will be likely next week on Friday, so students should be preparing for this by keeping up with their work. Students also got new spelling words today. Their test is next Thursday, June 2nd.

Then, students worked on their Math surveys. These will be due at the end of class tomorrow, so students should use their time wisely in class as they aren’t supposed to bring it home. These will be marked and added to their report cards. Then, we had snack and watched the Stop Motions.

Following recess, we went to Division 2’s Marketplace where students could purchase items. The proceeds are going to charity. Then, we did some quick journal reflections for some questions for Explorers and then did a little practice game in preparation for our test being on Thursday. Students should be preparing for this.

After lunch, we talked about the quiz and I encouraged students to make sure they keep on track with their readings and work. I also suggested they have siblings or parents ask them comprehension questions to help them get ready for the next quiz as well. Then, we did our Literature Circle meetings. Students had a bit of time to prepare for their next Literature Circle #5 on Thursday this week.

After, they did their planners, cleaned up, and got ready for DPA.

Reminder to read for 30 minutes every weekday (and maybe weekends too 🙂 )
