Dear Parents,

Today, we started off the day with going over the review for our Math Test on Tuesday and what to study for it. Students wrote down all of the items they will be expected to know before the test on Tuesday. Then, we took up questions from the homework from yesterday and talked about Lesson 7 – another unit on Symmetry. Students were assigned Unit 6, Lesson 7 #1-5 for today and it is homework if they did not finish it in class.

Students are having a break from their weekend journal this week because they worked really hard on writing their stories this past week. We will resume weekend journal next weekend.

After snack and recess, we had buddies. Students helped their little buddies prepare for their conferences next week and then had free time with them.

Following lunch, we took our school panorama photo and then I read more of James and the Giant Peach to the students. Students tried to make text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections to the chapters read in preparation for our Literature Circles next week.

Then, students did their planners and had community time.

As always, students should read 30 minutes today and record this in their reading log.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
