Dear Parents,

Today, we started off with students handing in their stories. Students who did not finish had lunch time to finish what they could before they needed to hand it in. Then, we talked more about lines of symmetry and did some worksheets to practice sorting shapes by lines by symmetry. We discussed the difference between vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines of symmetry and we talked about the lines of symmetry of various shapes.

Then, we had snack and recess.

Following recess, students started their Animal Adaptations project research. They haven’t been given the okay to use the Google Slides/Powerpoint links yet – they will have time to start this later in the process as I want them to spend a lot of time on the notes/research first.

After lunch, we did our “Visualizer/Artist” role practice in advance of Literature Circles. I read more of “James and the Giant Peach” to the kids and they had to draw out and colour in four different scenes from the chapters I read.

Then, we did our planners together, cleaned up, had DPA, and students went to Music.

Spelling Test on Thursday!

I also announced that students have a Math Test for Unit 6 of the textbook on Tuesday, May 10th next week.

Have a good night!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
