Dear Parents,
Today, we started off with finishing off our novel, “Animorphs” and then students had time to work on their Math Art project. I want it finished by Monday (they’ve had a lot of in-class time on this).
Then, students we had snack and students went to Music and then had DPA. After DPA, we did some reading and fill-in-the-blanks sheets on various vocabulary for the rock cycle and talked about various properties for classifying rocks and minerals such as colour, hardness, and lustre. Students then investigated different minerals, guessed what they were, and wrote qualitative observations about the mineral. Then, we looked at the various minerals under the microscope and looked up the minerals and read a bit about each one. We also looked up the hardness of various minerals on the mohs scale.
After lunch, we continued this and then students had time to work on writing out the good copy of their Wonder essays.
At the very end of the day, we worked on some new French food vocabulary and played French Food BINGO.
Spelling test is on Thursday.
Sincerely,
Ms. Wilks
