Week 29: Monday May 10th – Friday May 14th

A big round of applause to everyone for an awesome job on our animal research and presentations over the last few weeks!
This week, I am excited to start a few week long (3-4 weeks) exploration of the life cycle of caterpillars and butterflies!  We will begin with a focus on caterpillars!  We will hopefully uncover what caterpillars eat, details about their body parts, and their chrysalises.
Starting Monday May 10th we are participating in a Walk 30 Challenge.  This is a city wide challenge from May 10th – June 17th that many Burnaby schools, business and groups take part in.  Each day, we will do a short walk during our afternoon meeting (to music, or a video) and I hope your family can take part by also going on a family walk in your neighbourhood, home or backyard as well.
We are continuing practicing our scarf dance, that will be recorded this Wednesday afternoon in order to share at our May Celebration of Learning Assembly.
In math, we are turning our attention to symmetry.  We will focus on finding symmetry in nature, in shapes and also creating our own symmetrical loose parts designs.
