We love doing math scavenger hunts around the classroom! Ms. Shen hides little cards with math problems around the classroom and we have to hunt for them and fill out our sheets with the correct answers! Today we were counting by 10s! Ms. Shen even hid one under her desk upside down!

We’ve been learning how to research on iPads! We picked any animal and had to search up what it eats, where it lives, and more!

This week we got straight into it! We started with some New Years art and writing, got back into UFLI, did more writing and reading, and today we took advantage of the little bit of snow we got and started learning about the water cycle! We played with some ice inside our classroom to learn about the states of water and then went outside to play with some of nature’s ice for a few minutes!

Today we started the day with pancakes, had lots of treats, got a gift from Icy the elf, had a school assembly, and so much more! We are ready for a break and then we’ll get back into learning in January! Here are also some highlights of report cards we wrote for Ms. Shen.

 

 

Today our class elf surprised us with our own stockings with our names! What a great surprise to end the week with! We also practiced our music performance for our January assembly. Only 5 more school days!

Today we had the opportunity to go downtown to Gingerbread Lane! We took the skytrain downtown and saw some super cool gingerbread creations and the biggest Christmas tree we’ve ever seen! When we got back to school we warmed up with some hot chocolate from Ms. Shen and we created our own gingerbread art! HUGE thank you all the parents who came with us and braved the rain and embraced the chaos.

Today we enjoyed our 67th day of school! Of course Icy The Elf gave us so many fun activities to do throughout the day.

We have been so busy in our classroom! We’ve been practicing for our song for the January assembly, making winter art, looking for Icy the Elf every morning, celebrating birthdays,  and so much more! We only have 12 school days left and so much to do and learn.
