The Shen Art Museum & Origami

Today we got tickets to the Shen Art Museum! We first named our paintings, set them up, and got to visit the museum! We even invited Ms. Clair back to check out our finished masterpieces! Then this afternoon, Mrs. Kashima came to teach us some origami! It’s been an art filled week!

Painting, Art, & Creativity

Our school staff is full of different talents! Ms. Clair, who works in the community room at our school, is also an artist! She has her own art studio, so we invited her into our classroom to inspire us and teach us!
Today we painted and showed our creativity!

The Shen Zoo

Today we finished up our creatures and our non fiction books to go with our habitats! The Shen Zoo opened for a 15 minute tour. Each pair of kids got tickets to enter the zoo and like a real zoo, we couldn’t touch the animals or enter the habitats. We read about each other’s creations and then got to take our projects home!

Non-Fiction Writing

Today we started on writing our non-fiction styled book to go with our creatures that we imagined and created! We came up with a bright and beautiful cover page, started on our fact pages, and drew some beautiful pictures!

We are so excited to read and learn about our classmate’s animals!

Habitats and Creatures!

Today we spent most of the day creating our very own habitats and creatures! We learned that a habitat is where a creature lives. We made up our own creatures and decided what environment they live in. We then made it 3D!

Story Workshop & Art

Today we worked on creating stories! We first played with our story workshop kits, made stories, and then we got into patterns and small groups to create intentional stories. We drew out our setting, characters, and problem of a story. We talked about what it means to be a good partner and what it means to listen to others’ ideas. Once we had our story drawn out, we got to making our story with loose parts!
With more rainy days coming, we pulled out our pastels and created rainy day masterpieces! You can see our finished art in the window!
