Hello Strong Start Families
I hope you all had a safe and healthy summer and enjoyed lots of fun outside in the sun. My family and I had a wonderful summer together, spending lots of time at the beach and creating so many great memories together. We enjoyed watching many sunsets and the above picture was one of my favourites. It was so wonderful to come back to Maywood a few weeks ago to welcome all our new Kindergarten children to Kindergarten. I have spent the last little while in the Kindergarten classrooms and it has been great to be back at the school! Seeing the excitement in all the children makes me so happy. I miss all of you and all of your children and I truly hope we get to be back together soon. But in the meantime I will continue with updating the blog and sending out emails. Also if you would like to get in touch with me anytime please email me at lisa.parr@burnabyschools.ca I know the question on everyone’s mind is WHEN will Strong Start be open in person again??? Unfortunately currently we don’t have an answer to that, but please see the latest message from the school board below, and as soon as we have more information we will definitely let you know…
In September 2020, Burnaby StrongStart BC programs will continue to engage in outreach to families via emails, phone calls, and offering StrongStart services online.
There is currently no in-person StrongStart BC programs in Burnaby Schools.
We are looking into a variety of options that will enable us to offer in-person StrongStart BC programs. Programs will be at reduced capacity that are consistent with Stage 2 of the K-12 Education Restart Plan. “Reduced capacity” means that we will limit the number of families attending in order to maintain safe physical distancing. We will also reduce the number of hours per day and/or days per week of StrongStart BC operations to accommodate cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
