Pink Shirt Day

Wednesday was Pink Shirt Day and several of our class members had an amazing opportunity to do something special. Because they are in Montecito’s Have a Heart Club, they got to visit Metrotown Mall with several other Burnaby elementary schools to present a flash mob! Everybody danced with enthusiasm and pride while sending a message of acceptance and kindness. Students also participated in random acts of kindness, giving out treats, flowers, positive messages and even paying for a stranger’s groceries. I have never seen so many smiles on people’s faces, both students and shoppers. As Raquel gave out her last cupcake, she expressed, ‘I feel warm inside’. Way to go Have a Heart Club!
