Gymnastics

The children had a blast exploring the different stations led by Lucinda of Gym Sense Gymnastics. Lucinda did a wonderful job of introducing the children to the equipment safely and in a fun way. Many students stated they had never tried Gymnastics equipment before, and some were a little hesitant to start. Students developed their skills in strength, flexibility, balance and coordination, confidence and most importantly, they had fun!  Individual photos of children will be sent to you in separate emails.

Some comments from the children:
“I liked the beams.”
“I love swinging and climbing the rope.”
“It was hard to stand on the balancing thing, but I liked it.”
“The monkey bars were hard. But fun.”

Easter Fun

Our kindergarteners had a day full of colorful, creative fun! We kicked things off with a our annual Parkcrest Easter egg hunt in the forest. Thank you to the PAC for organizing it!

Next up, it was time to get artsy with egg decorating! Each child received their very own egg-shaped cutout to bring to life with sharpie and paint. The creativity was amazing — from rainbow designs to polka-dot masterpieces, every egg was unique, just like our little artists.

To wrap up the fun, the kids headed outside for some chalk drawing with egg-shaped chalk. The blacktop became a canvas of Easter joy! It was a day filled with laughter and lots of happy memories!

Enjoy the long weekend with family and friends.  Happy Easter everyone!

ADST Exploration

Our little engineers are having fun thinking, creating and solving problems with one another! The Applied design, skills and technologies (ADST) curriculum encourages children to think, design and build.  We explore with materials in our classroom that can help us with our ideas and extend our capabilities. We are also able to develop our skills through play and teamwork.

Cherry Blossoms

As spring rolls in, we are getting into the seasonal spirit with a popular classroom activity: cherry blossom craft! Using paper, tissue, and glue, our little artists are bringing blooming branches to life right in the classroom.

I Am From…

Division 11 wrote a poem about things and people that are most important to them. It was a truly heartwarming experience to see their creativity shine as they expressed their love for family, favourite toys and food, words they love to hear, and their favourite places. Through this exercise, your child had the opportunity to reflect on the things that bring them joy and make them feel safe and loved.

We encourage you to ask your child about their poem and celebrate the special things they wrote about.

Bats

Division 11 had so much fun learning about bats! We discovered that bats are amazing creatures that help our environment by eating bugs and pollinating plants. The class enjoyed reading and looking at pictures of bats, writing what they have learned and making a bat mobile.
