The Grade 1’s were very busy this week at school! As we become more familiar with our classroom routines, its amazing all the different activities we can do. Take a look at some of the fun activities we did this week!

Letter Sound Review & Number Sense 

 

 

Terry Fox

Before our Terry Fox Run, students read a book about Terry, watched some video clips and made their own mini book. They had lots of fun running and walking together in the neighbourhood.



Orange Shirt Day

In the classroom, students decorated Orange Shirts to hang outside the classroom for Orange Shirt Day. We also read books to learn more about Residential school. After, students brainstormed words and pictures to describe how students should feel at school. We wrote our ideas on orange hearts and hung them on our classroom tree!

Classroom Picture Calendar

At the beginning of every month, we make a poster together with pictures of activities we did for each month. We brainstormed words that describe our pictures. Our September poster is hanging up in our classroom for us to look at, and we are excited to make another one next month!
