Hi everyone,
We are going on our first walking trip to Burnaby Mountain tomorrow!
Please ensure students have lots of layers. While it will be dry tomorrow, it may be cool in the fog. I suspect we’ll be above the fog once we arrive at the top, but it may still be chilly. We will be leaving at 9:15 and should arrive back at Aubrey just before 3pm.
A few notes about the trip:
- Students may bring a few $ as we walk by a Chevron convenience store on the way back and often enjoy getting a snack.
- I showed students an app called iNaturalist which allows us to do a fun learning activity on the mountain. I can tether my data for this app and if you’re comfortable, please send your child with their phone if they have one. If not, no worries! Students partner with those who have one.
- In case of emergency, please call the school and they will contact me asap.
Also, this is just a reminder to bring a small plastic container for our soapstone carving on Friday (think Margarine container sized). We’ve only got two so far!
