We learned about fractions and how fraction parts are equal shares or equal-sized portions of a whole or unit. Then, we learned how to make a fraction out of our names! We counted how many parts there are in our names and wrote fractions for the vowels and consonants. It was a fun activity that helped us better understand how fractions work!
We integrated art into our math lesson! We learned about arrays in multiplication and created an “Array City.” Using our knowledge of arrays, we wrote multiplication equations to represent the windows arranged in arrays. Learning about arrays and equal groups really helped us build a strong foundation for understanding multiplication!
We have been learning how to respond to peer conflict, mean behaviour, and bullying in schools. These lessons focus on creating safe and welcoming spaces and are being delivered by our school counsellor, Ms. Aquilla.
In the past few lessons, we have learned how to be a Bully Buster. We discovered what it means to be a Bully Buster and how each letter represents an important part of being an upstander. Although all the steps are important, the most crucial step is to tell an adult and keep telling until the bullying behaviour is stopped and safety is ensured.
These skills are important because they teach us how to stand up for others, create a safer environment, and help prevent bullying.

We attended the Julia Robinson Math Festival, hosted by Div. 1 and 2. There were so many challenging math problems that really got our brains working! We had a blast exploring the various stations and tackling the puzzles.
