On Thursday morning Sperling will participate in The Great BC Shakeout, an annual earthquake drill to ensure we know what to do in the event of an earthquake. Families are encouraged to review emergency procedures at home and check their emergency kits as well.
The school will be closed on Monday October 13th for Thanksgiving. Have a restful weekend.
From Wednesday October 8th to Friday October 10th division 5 students will be at Timberline Ranch for our annual grade 6 outdoor school experience. Students should drop their baggage off against the wall outside the library unless their parent is driving (keep it in the car). Don’t forget to bring your lunch for Wednesday. We expect to return to Sperling at about 2:00 on Friday.
Truth and Reconciliation Day is Tuesday September 30th and there will be no school for students.
Sperling will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day on Monday with an assembly. Please consider wearing orange to show your support for the victims of residential schools.
On Friday September 26th Sperling will be participating in the Terry Fox Run. Make sure students come ready to run. Thank you for your support of this important cause.

I hope everyone had a restful summer. On September 3rd division 5 students should return to Portable 6 at 9:00. Dismissal will be at 10:00. The regular bell schedule resumes on September 4th.
