Our attempt to break a world record was successful. Divisions 5 and 15 at Sperling were some of the 784 086 people all over the world who did cup stacking activities on specific days in November. Click here for more info.
Birdhouses

We have built and sanded our birdhouses in ADST and are scheduled to paint them on November 27th. Students should wear old clothes in case the paint gets on them. It is outdoor paint that would likely not be possible to wash out of clothing. Once they have dried and are ready students will bring them home.

Students are welcome to wear costumes on Friday provided they are appropriate for school. The Student Council will be hosting a costume contest and there will be a dance at lunch. No weapons or costumes others may find offensive please. Students may be asked to remove costumes during regular class time if they interfere with regular classroom work, but they may show them off at the assembly.

Sperling’s annual Pumpkin Patch event is Monday October 27th. Bring a bag to carry home a pumpkin and a mug for hot chocolate.
Earthquake Drill Thursday

On Thursday morning Sperling will participate in The Great BC Shakeout, an annual earthquake drill to ensure we know what to do in the event of an earthquake. Families are encouraged to review emergency procedures at home and check their emergency kits as well.
