Term 2 Big Idea:  Designs grow out of natural curiosity
Task:  Create a structure, tool or demonstration showing a push or pull force
Rules:  Use only classroom construction materials; must work individually; students cannot duplicate a classmate’s design
Challenge:  Try not to create a force demonstration that mimics a domino falldown 

Term 1 Big Idea:  Skills can be developed through play
Task:  Build a Christmas tree using Lego pieces
Rules:  Tree must stand up without support; must work individually
Challenge:  Add details like ornaments, presents or a star on top; tree does not have to be green
