Retelling a Story (May 18-22)

Here is a template your child can use to write about a story they have read. Good readers focus on details in a story such as: the characters, the setting, the beginning, middle and end.

(How -to) Procedural Writing (May 25- 29)

I have noticed that some families have been baking, cooking, creating and learning together more. Your child can choose something they have done and write the step by step instructions for it. This can be anything from a cookie recipe, how to build something from Lego, or even how to make a craft.

I have posted a few templates so please pick one and use what works for your child.

Fact Finder (June 1st-5th)

Since some of us have been spending a lot of time in our gardens, I thought we could focus on earthworms. The books are different levels, but  have some great visuals and information about earthworms.  After reading the books about Earthworms your child can use the fact finder page to write about what they have learned.

Wonder Wednesdays

As part of a writing activity on Wednesday, I was hoping students can continue their wonder projects, which we started in term two. I have attached  a template that your child can use to guide their questions and research. When your child completes their wonder project they can share it with our class during our weekly class meeting.
