“Numeracy is the ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts, processes and skills to solve problems in a variety of contexts.” – BC’s New Curriculum.  

The children of Division 8 have been working on developing their numeracy skills. In order to do so, they need lots of opportunities to visualise and explore mathematical concepts.  The best way to develop mathematical understanding is through play, games and problem solving activities.  The children can then apply the strategies that they have learned in order to solve mathematical problems in a fun, real and challenging way.
