As artists, the colours and textures of Fall have been inspirational.  However, we are ready to say good-bye and welcome a new season.

In math, we have been exploring sorting, graphing and probability.

We can classify and count objects in categories (sort), create concrete graphs (bar and pictographs) and explore probability (possible, impossible, always, sometimes never).

All About Fall!

The children have been watching with curiosity and wonder as the world has changed around them.

The rich greens of summer have turned into the dusty golds of fall.  The soft swishing sounds are now a crinkly whisper in our ears.  Acorns, pinecones, fir needles and crispy leaves excite our fingers. Thanksgiving foods entice our noses and taste so savory.

We have been using our senses (looks like, sounds like, feels like, smells like, tastes like) to discover all the wonderful things that fall has to offer.

We have learned that the days get shorter, the leaves change colour and fall to the ground, the crops are ready for harvest and the animals get ready for winter.
