“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.” – Dr. Seuss

On Friday, we got together with our buddy class and it was magic.  Our big buddies, Division 7, read to us outside in the shade of the trees.  The kiddos were so engaged listening to the stories and made some lovely connections.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time that we celebrate with family and friends with foods like turkey, mashed potatoes, carrots, corn, yams, stuffing and pies. It is also an opportunity to give thanks and be grateful for the things that we have.

Here are our thoughts on gratitude – “I am thankful for…

Our Orange Hearts

“Every child matters, including you and me. With our orange hearts, we walk in harmony.”

We read the book With Our Orange Hearts by Phyllis Webstad.  Phyllis is the founder of Orange Shirt Day.  Her true orange shirt story “encourages young children to open their hearts and listen as others share their feelings, and to be more comfortable sharing their own feelings too. Listening is a first step towards reconciliation. It’s never too early to start.”

Can you see our orange hearts?
