Division 7 has been learning about direct measurement. First, we measured with uniform units which are consistent in size (unifix cubes, standard paper clips and rulers). Next, we measured things with non-uniform units which are not consistent in size (children’s hands and pencils). We used non-uniform units in the scale to measure weight. We built our names with magnetic letters and put them in one side of the scale. In the other side of the scale, we added bears, counters, trapezoids or unifix cubes.
We learned that the size of something does not determine its weight. [metaslider id=2843]
