Last week we talked about what it meant to be a citizen of a community.  Remember a  citizen is a person who lives in a community and has certain rights and responsibilities.

I asked,  As a Citizen, what can you do?   Here are some thoughts from your friends:

  • “I can draw and help other when they need it.” – Ajay
  • “I can spread joy.” – Cameron
  • “I can help others draw.” – Eliza
  • “I can give blankets to people in need.”  – Emma
  • “I can reuse, reduce and recycle.” – Ethan
  • “I can help others when they fall.” – Jose
  • “I can help my mom and dad.” – Xander

A community is a place where people live, work and play.

There are different types of communities:  Some people live in a Rural community.  Many people live in a Suburb.  And lots of people live in a Urban community.  What type of community do you live in?

People live in different kinds of homes:

Some people live in an apartment, duplex, townhouse or a house.  Can you match the kind of home to the picture?  What kind of home do you live in?

Toby and Riley live in a townhouse with their human, Ms. Gourlay.

Draw a picture of your home.  Remember to add lots of colour and details.
