The children were surprised to learn that all of these foods are grown in the rainforest. 

In science, one of the curricular competencies expects that the students are able to make exploratory observations using their senses.  This time the children used their sense of taste. 

We decided to conduct an experiment and try something new – we ate papaya and drank coconut milk.  Some of us were not sure if we would like them . . . but as scientists, we knew that we had to be brave.
