We have been learning about how seasonal changes affect apples trees.

One of our favourite books is Our Apple Tree by Gorel Kristina Naslund.  This book describes the life cycle of the apple tree – from spring, when the apple tree blossoms, through summer, when the fruit grows, to fall, when the apples are ripe and ready to pick, and finally to winter, when the apple trees rests. We also learned about the animals that visit the apple tree – from insects that pollinate the flowers to deer that eat the fallen fruit.  We tried some of the many gifts that are provided by the apple tree, like crunchy apples, apple sauce and apple juice.
