Term 2 Music and French Overview

Division 6 receives Music instruction every Friday from Mr. Chen.  Here is the overview for what students have been focusing on:  

Hawaiian ukulele 1206721 PNGThrough group practice, students proficiently identify and play a variety of fundamental ukulele chords, including simple 7ths. This term, Division 6 looked into simple alternating fingerpicking technique.

Additionally, students demonstrate a deepened understanding of identity, culture, and societal issues through critical listening and analysis of music relevant to historical context, racism, and social norms. This fosters empathy, cultural awareness, and social consciousness.

FRENCH instruction takes place every Tuesday for one hour with Ms. Lee.

In French this term, students continued to challenge themselves by responding to simple commands and basic classroom instructions in French. They further expanded their French vocabulary bank by using complete sentences both orally and in writing. The highlight of this term was having the opportunity to participate in the Maple Man workshop, which helped them learn about and experience a cultural tradition in Quebec.
