What a productive week! Even though we only had 4 days , we sure packed a LOT into it! So many projects are underway that it’s great to see the items on our “to do” lists getting checked off as DONE! Hooray!
Our African country tri-fold boards are getting closer and closer to being presentation ready! All but 2 groups are on this stage, so you are on track.
If your group still hasn’t started the actual tri-fold board yet, you do need to pick up the pace a bit… we have to have everything done by June 6th.
Our practice with money concepts continued this week as well. The 4 money stations we rotated through last week needed to be completed and handed in. In addition to that, our class has a month long free trial of IXL. This is an online learning program that covers all sorts of topics across all grade levels. Our focus is only in Math: specifically Money and Time. Your goal is to spend a little bit of time (20 minutes -half an hour) at home working through the MONEY section for your grade level. Let’s see how far you can get by Friday, May 30th. If you finish the Money sections, move on to the Time activities.
Also, if you are becoming frustrated or it’s taking you a long time to get through a level, then drop down a level and work through the activities at a level that is appropriate for you. The goal is to become more and more familiar with these concepts and increase your proficiency with money and time.
Our love of California Kick was re-ignited this week after not having played for some time. This time we split the class into three smaller teams and we played 3 games on Friday. Our skills are becoming much stronger and with smaller teams, everyone gets to play a bit more of an active role in the game.
Our French “C’est Moi” books or power point presentations are due next week. Those of you who are doing a power point presentation, be ready for either Thursday or Friday. The schedule is posted near the planner board in case you forget which day/time you signed up for. Those of you doing books need to have your book completed by Thursday, May 29th. As we are wrapping up our “C’est Moi” projects, we are embarking on a quick little final activity: A Reader’s Theater called “C’est L’ete!” ( It’s Summertime!)
This is a short script for 4 people that will be performed in both French and English! From our brief practice time on Friday, it looks like it won’t take long before you are ready to present those. Don’t worry though, that won’t happen until sometime in June.
This leads into your blog response for this weekend: The “C’est L’ete” readers theater script repeats the line: “L’ete c’est…” ( Summertime is…”). Can you give two OTHER ideas that aren’t in the script already? Provide the English and the French translation.
- English: Summertime is _________________
French Translation: “L’ete c’est _______________
2.English: Summertime is _________________
French Translation: “L’ete c’est _______________
Have a wonderful weekend Division 7!
