The final countdown is definitely ON!! This week was one that packed in a LOT of fun! On Thursday, we performed Avnika’s reader’s theatre script to the other Grade 4/5 classes. It was GREAT!
Everyone thought it was a very well written script and all of you performed your parts very well! You sure are a class that loves the creative side of things! Congratulations again, Avnika, for creating a script that was not only very engaging and fun, but also very informative and current!
We had our final swimming session this week and, as always, it was a great afternoon! The water walkway was open … did you give it a go? What were your favourite things to do at the pool?
There was some learning that took place as well this week:
How about you quiz your parents and see it they know the following abbreviations: PST, MST, CST, EST, AST, and NST. What do they think these are? Did any of them know that these are the abbreviations for Canada’s six time zones? We learned about why time zones are important and how they work in Canada. We watched a short video and then we did a follow-up activity.
Although Friday was supposed to be our Confederation Park picnic day, the weather forecast did not look favourable at all, so the decision was made to stay at school and have a fun day here.
We spent the morning playing a variety of different games and we had some outside time as well.
In the afternoon, we offered three movies ( based on the popular vote) and had the opportunity to watch either DOGMAN, YES DAY, or MOANA 2. What a great way to finish off the week.
Next week we have a few more key things to get done: our Core Competency year end reflection, a final visit with our buddies, and making our growth portfolio folder. We’ll also be packing up all our supplies and bringing everything home.
Don’t forget to bring a sturdy bag to school each day so that you have something to carry all your things home in. Report cards go home on Thursday and our Mega Market Sale happens on Thursday as well.
Your blog response for this weekend is:
1. Which Canadian time zone are we in?
2. If it is 3:00 pm in Newfoundland (NST), what time is it here (PST)?
Have a wonderful weekend Division 7! Three days and one hour left!! ![]()
