This term, students in Division 7 learned a bit about the fabulous world of photography. We looked at lots of different examples of powerful photos and discussed what made them compelling. We learned about how perspective, light + shadow, and composition helps tell a story about a subject. Vocabulary words like foreground, background, and focus helped us navigate our photo-taking. Students mostly used iPads to take the photos. I wanted to introduce them to using digital cameras, but unfortunately, the ones we borrowed from the district didn’t work very well.
