Gr. 1/2

May 12th – 4th round of activities (Gr. 1/2)

  1. Using the web site “Rhythm Randomizer”, play the rhythms that are displayed on the screen using body percussion or an instrument/object that you have at home: http://www.rhythmrandomizer.com/. If possible submit a video showing the rhythms on the screen along with you playing them.
  2. Pick a song, practice singing it, and submit a recording of yourself singing it. You can have music in the background to sing along to or sing acapella (singing only). Feel free to use any of the resources on the blog site home page, or any resources of your own.
  3. Watch the videos provided in this document that involve storytelling and musical learning. Tell me which video was your favourite, why it was your favourite, and what you learned from it. MUSIC VIDEO STORYBOOKS
  4. Make a list of sounds that you can hear when you are outside your home, in the yard/balcony or on the street. For each sound, pick a musical instrument that you think could recreate that sound. Write a second list of musical instruments that match the sounds that you hear.
  5. Complete any previously posted activities that you have not yet done.

How to submit work

Please submit work through one of the following three methods:

  1. Comment on any of the blog posts (if comments are to show on the blog site I have to ‘approve’ them, so I can just not approve your comment and view the work at my end).
  2. Email it to me at adrian.clift@burnabyschools.ca
  3. For large file submissions add them to Google Drive and invite Mr. Clift through the ‘share’ option.
  4. Also for large file submissions, Mr. Clift can add you to a Microsoft Team where you can upload the file in the “Assignments” tab.

If you need assistance with submitting work please email me at Adrian.clift@burnabyschools.ca
