Gr. 3/4/5

Apr 14th – 2nd round of activities (gr. 3/4/5)

  1. Submit a video or audio recording of yourself making music at home. Suggestions include singing along to one of the videos on the HOME page, singing one of our school concert songs along to the song’s Youtube video, or playing Seaforth Music repertoire on an instrument.
  2. Go outside, close your eyes, and listen. Think about what sounds you can hear. Then write a list of all the things that you could hear, describing the sound quality and volume of each sound you heard.
  3. Learn and explore music using any of the resources posted on the HOME page of the blog site. Write about, or get video footage of, what you’ve done or learned and submit it to Mr. Clift.
  4. Pick one of the songs from the “Recorder Songs to Learn” file found in the “Recorder Divisions Resources” page. Learn to play the song using your knowledge of recorder and music reading. Record yourself playing a segment of the song that’s at least 8-bars long, and submit the recording to Mr. Clift.

Some things I heard outside were…

I heard birds cheeping loudly with a high pitched tune and a scratchy voice.

I heard the sound of the train going by and it was awfully loud and screechy and sounded like two medals clinging together.

I heard trees moving back and forth in the wind while blowing and swishing, it made a soft sound just like two giant feathers blowing in the wind.

I heard a few loud cars honking their horns, it was a loud smooth sound that lasted about two seconds.

I heard a bee buzzing next to my hear and it made a quiet sound from it. I could also hear the sound of the wind blowing as the bee moved.
