How to Access Office 365

Hello families!

The Burnaby School District has offered all students free access to Microsoft Office 365 (OneDrive). This will allow students to work on their assignments both at school on school devices as well as home without losing data. Oh boy… times have changed since pencil+paper, floppy disks, and CD-ROM.

For our intermediate students, this access includes: district email addresses via Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and more! I have shown some students how to access their accounts and work on documents through their district email addresses, but if you are having trouble accessing your Office 365 account, please see below:

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com
  2. Login using this format:
Username: pupil#@edu.burnabyschools.ca (The same ID used to login to school computers)
Password: your SD41 school password (The same password used to login to school computers)
  3. Once logged in, you can click on the function/application you would like to use. Any documents you edit via OneDrive or new documents will save automatically on the cloud system.

    Example:

If Joe Smith’s school computer login is…
    Username: 123456
    Password: abracadabra
Then his Office 365 login will be as follows…
    Username: 123456@edu.burnabyschools.ca
    Password: abracadabra

If you do not know your username and/or password, please ask Mr. Chu.

I hope I made this easy enough to understand. If you need more clarification, please see this link and PDF for more information.

Kindly,
Mr. Chu 🙂
