FamilySmart – In The Know In the Know provides expert speakers on topics important to families and/or those working to support the mental health of children and youth. PARENTING WHEN OUR KIDS CAN’T GO TO SCHOOL Parenting when our kids won’t (or can’t) go to school is hard for everyone; mental health challenges can be what is creating the barrier to them attending. This is hard and complex – we talk about the pieces we have some control over, remembering how much relationships matter, and who we can look to for support. Registration Required: https://www.gotostage.com/channel/intheknow Communities: Burnaby, New Westminster & Richmond Cost: Free of Charge Date: Friday, October 23, 2020…

Let’s create!
Good morning my little friends! Today we are going to create a beautiful collage. You need a roll of clear contact paper. This paper is used to line drawers and shelving. I found it at Dollarama. Find some coloured paper, tissue paper, Pom poms, leaves and flowers… anything that will stick to the paper. Parents cut out shapes and talk about with with your children! I taped the paper with the sticky side out on the window but you can put it on the wall. Leave the paper up for a few days and add different materials! ❤️ Ms Gael

The Adventures with Mr Stick Man
Hello friends! The next time you go for a walk look closely for a stick on the ground. I chose a stick that had a long line and then two smaller lines that made a triangle shape that I thought looked like legs. Look for a smaller stick that you could use for arms. See? Have an adult help you with this part! I used a figure 8 type loop to join the two sticks together with twine and then made a knot. Now it is time to dress your stick friends! I used embroidery floss I purchased at Dollarama and wrapped my stick person with different colours. You can…
