Writing:

Read or listen to a story. Write a different ending to the story and share it with someone.

Using the letters from the name of your favourite character (e.g. JUNIE BEATRICE JONES) make as many words as you can. How could you sort your words? (e.g. word endings, beginning sounds).

Weekly Class Meeting 11:00 on Zoom (Special guest Ms. Su will introduce a science challenge)

Science:

Force and Motion Challenge: See if you can solve Ms. Su’s question from her science lesson today.

The answer is 12. What might the question be? Can you think of at least 5 different possible questions? Use as many different operations as you can (e.g. plus, minus, division, multiplication)

Wedenesday

Literacy

Writing: Continue taking notes about your animal for your research project and start filling in the pages.  Or you can research a topic of your choice, (online, in books, by asking an adult or someone who knows about the topic). Write out five facts you learned and tell them to a friend or family member.

Reading: Go to the Raz-Kids or Epic Books free websites and read a book about the animal you have chosen to research.

Math: Go to the Khan Academy website and try the questions I’ve assigned to you on multiplication.  Or you can describe this pattern and write the next three numbers: 45, 42, 39

DPA: Got to Go Noodle or Youtube and teach someone in your house how to dance to Pop See Ko.

Thursday

Literacy:

Reading: Go to Raz-Kids, Epic Books or one of the other websites suggested in your Animal Research project and continue reading and researching about your animal.

Writing: Continue to work on your animal research projects.  Or choose 3 objects in your home. Write down 3 clues for each, that describe the object. Hide the objects and read your clues one at a time to someone else. See if they can guess your objects by using the clues that you give them.

Math: Go to Khan Academy or ABC ya math and try an activity of your choosing about multiplication.  Or learn about symmetry and complete the design! Place a piece of yarn or string on the floor. Have someone use items in your house (e.g., Lego blocks, pasta noodles, buttons etc.) to create a pattern on one half. Create the other half for a symmetrical design!

Music: Go to Mr. TDs’s Website lucastds.com and check out his weekly music activity.

Friday

Literacy

Reading: Continue reading and researching your animal.  Visit Ms. Su’s website and listen to this week’s Read Aloud.

Art: Do a guided drawing activity! Click here: Draw Everyday with JJK

DPA:  Listen: Sit still back to back with someone and listen quietly with your eyes closed. List all the things you can hear over three minutes. Do you hear the same things? Or you can do Chair Aerobics: Position a chair so you have enough room to stretch out your legs. Make sure you are sitting on the edge of the chair with a straight back. Play music with a strong beat and follow these actions: Hiking: Swing your arms and reach left and right while tapping your toes and lifting your knees. Swimming: Move your arms as if doing the front or back crawl and kick your legs in a flutter kick. Cycling: Hold on to the seat of your chair and pedal your legs as if riding a bike. Paddling: Use an imaginary paddle to paddle a canoe.
