Hi Everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

We had a great, sunny day today! ๐Ÿ™‚ It was absolutely beautiful and warm.

Today, we started off with new spelling words. They are environment and natural resource themed to match our new Social Studies units. Please make sure that your child is studying the words throughout the week and a half, as their next test is Thursday, November 12th.

Then, we did a review for the Math Test, which is tomorrow. The pages for homework tonight to helpย  them study are:

Grade 4: pages 76 & 77 #1-3, 5, 8, 10, 11

Grade 5: pages 66, 67 #2-8, 9, 11, 13

After that, we had snack and went outside for DPA.

Following DPA, the Grade 4 students read about the Tundra biome a.k.a Polar Habitat and highlighted theย  important points. Then, they had to write a paragraph summarizing the important parts of the biome in their own words.

The Grade 5’s worked with me and we looked at various samples of Earth natural materials and brainstormed what products they could be used to make. We talked about natural resources vs. products, as natural resources are Earth materials that are not human-made and they can then be transformed or used to make new products. Then, we went around the classroom and looked at different items and classified what natural resources were used to make those items.

After that, we worked on our embroidery a little bit.

After lunch, we had our Daily 5 stations and then finished the movie at the end of the day ๐Ÿ™‚

Please study, study, study, for the Math Test tomorrow! It is on Chapter 2 ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a good night!

Sincerely,

Ms. Wilks
